Sedona is a dream!

27 Dec

That’s not a painting in the background – it’s the real thing!

Five things I learned about Sedona:

5. Blue skies, clean air – but remember it’s still the desert so drink lots of water, dehydration isn’t fun!

4. Don’t get too close to the prickly pear cactus or you will be picking stickers out of your pants.

3. Local art galleries are filled with magnificent but super expensive southwest themed paintings. There are many fun touristy shops where you can get lots of cool Arizona knick knacks and Native American jewelry. (Beware of those “Made in China”).

2. Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village is a must visit. Pronunciation hint: think of “To lock a pocket”.

1. The scenery for goodness sake!!! Take a jeep tour and experience the desert up close. See the red rocks, adobe architecture, the creeks, the canyons, the cypress trees and sycamores, the crazy desert vegetation, the vortexes (still not quite sure what this is), the trails, the wide open spaces and the feeling of being surrounded by nature’s finest.
